What "timeless classic" really means
51Not much to read. Promised.
As I want to be this one as self-explaining as possible, I`ll keep short on words here. When I ranted the last time about how computer games got easier and worse, it was a little bit over-reacting - and not talking about strategy. Great strategy games are still being made, no doubt about that. And sometimes even a series can live for 20 years and still get better by every new installement of the Franchise.
THIS IS DEDICATED TO CIV.
Civ 1 - 1991
Civ 3 (2001)
Civ 5 (2010)
20 years later...
...the games idea, mechanics and basic gameplay is still the same, untouched in its core. Sure, there have been changes, improvements, extensions. Lots of them. TONS OF THEM. But the latest Civ is still a Civ at heart, and this franchise shows best that a game mechanic that made the players happy 20 years ago still works today.
Of course, you need a Sid Meier for that ;)

Some good videos, really does show how games change graphically but not in a game play sense. You have some decent points, and you've earned my subscribe. I'd like to see that Hub on how games are getting easier and worse - because, I'll no doubt whole heartedly agree ^_^
